We haven't been to the beach all summer, so we took the girls to New Smyrna Beach for the day. Every time we go, it's sort of like their first time, because it's been so long since the last time they went! We were there for several hours, and we all came home tan and happy. And so tired. :)
The girls looked absolutely adorable in their sunglasses and they were quite a hit with all the college girls nearby. Especially Madi with her one little sandy butt cheek that kept popping out of her bathing suit. :)
Madi was so busy collecting seashells and helping Austin build sand sculptures that she didn't eat the entire time we were there. For a kid who asks "I have somepin to eat pwease?" every 8 minutes, we knew that meant she must be having fun!
"Mommy! Look at my crabby!"
Madi thought it was really cool that people walking down the beach kept stopping
to see the sand sculpture she made with her Daddy.
We parked near a sand bar, so Emily had a warm little pool of water to splash in right near the water's edge. Since she never seems to tan, we didn't want to leave her in the sunshine for too long, so she went in to her baby pool under the umbrella. We've brought this the last couple of times we've gone to the beach, and it works out so perfect. She can stay in the shade and splash away, while Madi can play in the sun and sand.
I just love this picture of her, especially with the sunglasses.
She looks like such a Florida girl!
We had a great day and we even made a detour on the way home for some Dairy Queen! And we all slept good that night. :)
