The Tooth Fairy is making a visit to the Rouse House!
Since Monday, Emily has been refusing to eat. She'll sometimes eat a few bites, but most of the time she just refuses everything, even pudding. We were wracking our brains trying to figure out why...queasy from the antibiotics for the sinus infection, somebody new feeding her at school, tired of baby food after 4 years, 6-year molars coming in early, or just her being difficult...nothing seemed right though, and we were stumped. I was devastated, actually. Although she's been eating for 4 years now, I still vividly remember how she used to gag and retch if she so much as touched food. One of my biggest fears has always been that she would just stop eating one day. And it seemed like it was happening...Sunday was fine, then just overnight, everything changed.
Tonight, after her bath, I was looking at her teeth to see if I was going to be scolded by the dentist for not brushing them enough (which I probably will be since Emily really doesn't like it). Her bottom row of teeth have always been overcrowded, just like mine. So when I was looking closely tonight, the extra space definitely caught my attention right away!
Her front center left tooth is missing...and the right one is loose! I kept counting to make sure I was right, and even though I was positive that she got those teeth first and both definitely came in, I pulled out the baby book anyway and double checked!
I think my voice was full of complete shock and disbelief when I looked at Austin and said, "Kindergarteners lose their teeth. She's almost 5 1/2." I called Papa and told him, and he was very hopeful that this is why Emily's been having trouble eating. I was still in shock though! Then I was even more shocked when he said, "The Tooth Fairy has to come visit!" I just can't believe it!! One minute I was crying so hard because I thought she had given up on eating...and the next minute I'm completely speechless!!
P.S. The EEG for tommorrow has been cancelled...long story, but I'll let you know when the new date will be!
