A Busy Day!

I'm just doing one blog entry for everything that happened today!

Today was Emily's last day of school. Tomorrow morning she will graduate! To celebrate the end of the year, her class had water day out on the playground. There have been water days the last two years she was at UCP, but I always kept her home because I knew she'd be miserable. I didn't want anyone forcing her to play in water when she didn't like it. That obviously was not the case today! We were so excited to send her to school so she could have fun! She left with Austin this morning in her bathing suit, towel dress and Crocs, ready to play!

When I picked her up from school, I asked her teacher if she had a fun water day. "OH MY GOSH," her teacher said, "We have never seen her have so much fun!" She said she was putting her face close to the water and then she'd laugh when she got too close. And, surprise, surprise, she SAT IN the water table (thanks Papa for teaching her that!) and they had to keep pulling her out so the other kids could splash their hands in the water. :) Then, when all the kids were sitting against the wall waiting to get dried off by the teacher, Emily apparently kept getting up and trying to run back to play with the water. They had to run and grab her several times! At one point, she fell trying to walk on the mulch to get to the water toys...it seems fitting that I had to sign an accident report on the last day of school, since I signed one on the first day of school this year when she flipped out of the rocking chair!

After school, she went to see a new speech therapist. This therapist and her associates are known nationwide for their techniques in feeding issues as well as communication. Emily is going to start there next week, twice a week for an hour each time. It will be tough for us to drive to the therapy sessions every week, especially with Madi in tow, but I'm hopeful that we can make some progress in Emily's feeding and language delays.

Tonight, I was flipping through the Orlando Sentinel to cut out a headline about the Orlando Magic to put in Madi's baby book (on the 2009 headlines page). I've been checking the Sunday editions for Madi's birth announcement, and I was expecting it to be in this Sunday's. But while looking at tonight's paper, I saw that they run birth announcements during the week too! I had no idea, and sure enough, there it was under April 7th! "Rouse, Madilynn Nicole, born to Rebecca Rouse and Austin Rouse, Chuluota." It makes me sick to think I almost missed it!!! I'm so glad I saw it!!!

And, one more thing, and it's a few days old now but I haven't written about it yet...I finally joined the exclusive Minivan Mommies club. :) I got a 2007 Toyota Sienna, blue, on Friday, and I absolutely love it! I feel very comfortable driving it, and the girls look so much better in their car seats in the van (instead of crammed in the back of my Civic). Yay!
