This morning was Emily's class performance at her preschool. Mommy sat in the front row of course, and I saved a seat next to me so Papa could see the slide show of pictures from her class. There are only two pictures of Emily, towards the beginning. Go figure, in one of them she's playing on the same red car she crashes around here at home!
The plan was for Papa to slip to the back of the room once the slide show was over so that Emily didn't see him and try to ditch her class! But there wasn't really enough time without trampling on the kids coming through the door, so we just tried to make it seem like no big deal that Papa was there. He tried looking down at the ground until she got situated in her seat, but she had to walk right in front of us to get there. She spotted me first, and could have cared less of course! :) Then she saw Papa sitting next to me and the look of confused excitement on her face was too funny.

She did much better than we thought she would. She stayed in her seat, and seemed happy that Papa was there, instead of mad that she couldn't sit with him.

I always love watching her class sing songs, because Emily looks like a puppet on strings when the teachers make her participate! :) Plus, who doesn't love watching four teachers try to get a group of preschoolers to cooperate in front of a room full of parents?!
Right after the song was over, the kids were led out of the room by the teachers. Emily made a bee line for Papa, almost getting run over by a classmate in a wheelchair! She grabbed his collar and and yelled her happy yell. We gave her hugs and sent her off, which was hard...but she did great, and they went straight out to the playground which kept her from getting upset!
