Usually the only way Madi would sleep through the night was if she was
in our room. She slept on her little Backyardigans couch on the floor.
Otherwise, she'd wake up crying a few times a night, especially after
her "traumatizing" school experience--she was waking up 7 or 8 times a
night crying about going to school. Towards the end of April though,
after sleeping on our bedroom floor for months, Madi had a couple of
successful nights of not only sleeping all night, but doing so while
staying in her big girl bed. She was very proud of herself, so to keep
this new trend going, we put a calendar on her wall so she could put a
sticker on it for every night that she stayed in her big girl bed. She was apparently finally ready, because she has done
absolutely amazing! She filled up her May chart and got a special Snow White doll to celebrate!
She was so excited, we had to immediately put the Snow White movie on so she could watch it with her new Barbie. :) We used Tinkerbell stickers for the month of May, and after getting a few stickers, she started going back to the beginning and naming them all anytime she stuck a new one on the chart. Here is a video of her naming them up through May 24th. Some of them are tricky to understand her, like "Froggy", "Tinkerbell's friend", "Sign", and "Watering can." But it made us smile every time. :)
