Happy Birthday Daddy!

This week we celebrated Austin's 34th birthday! I remember sitting in the bed of his purple truck at Mullet Lake Park, staring at the stars, the two of us tearing up a little in disbelief because it was 12am on his (gasp!) 20th birthday...and he seemed soooo old! Then we realized that for the next 5 weeks, I would still be 16 while he was 20. And that sounded kinda gross, so we decided to stay quiet about it. :)

On Saturday, we took Austin to Kobe Steakhouse for his birthday dinner and we were more excited about Madi watching the chefs cook in front of you! She's never been to Kobe before, and we didn't tell her anything about the restaurant, so she was surprised! She loved all the food of course, and we had to make sure we got her her own salad (which she tried to eat with chopsticks and ended up stabbing the lettuce instead) and onion soup.

This was when the chef did the onion volcano with all the fire...she loved it at first and had a big smile, then she seemed a little unsure and said "My no like fire!" :)

Then, the day of Austin's actual birthday, his fishing plans got rained out. So went to breakfast at Denny's, and he got to open the fishing presents from the girls before his rescheduled fishing trip! Madi picked a different wrapping paper for each fishing lure, and she wrapped them all by herself. :)

Emily was not thrilled about being in this picture, lol.

While Austin worked on wiring the amp in his truck, I made him chocolate peanut butter cake bites! They were so yummy, and 4 dozen disappeared very quickly!

My mom came over to watch the girls while we went to the movies to see The Hunger Games. It's been a long time since we've been to the movies together...we were trying to remember when we last went, and we think it was Talladega Nights with Will Ferrell...in 2006! The movie was great (not as good as the book of course) and it was nice to watch a movie together without having to pause it every 10 minutes! Happy Birthday Baby!!!
