Lucky Girls

We were especially excited for St. Patrick's Day this year (besides for the corned beef and cabbage) because this is the first year we made a leprechaun trap with the girls! Madi was so cute hunting around the house for green "bait" she could put in the trap to attract the leprechaun. She's been talking all about the gold and candy he might leave her, and how "leprechauns eat rainbows." :) And she was very concerned about what the leprechaun might leave for Emily since "Emmy no like candy!"

We decorated the trap with lots of green stickers, paper, and glitter. Madi set it all up with the green bait and had a hard time falling asleep that night! (On a side note, you can see her new "CHEESE!!" face in a few of these photos!)

The leprechaun was too fast for us, but he did destroy the living room looking for gold...he flipped over chairs and couch cushions, and made a mess of the puzzles and toys. He left lots of yummy treats for the girls too--green M&M's, gold chocolate coins, Andes chocolate mints, and for Emmy, a balloon and a green package of chocolate pudding! With all of those goodies, the girls weren't disappointed at all about the leprechaun getting away. ;)
