Tomorrow is Madi's half birthday! :) She is six months old already and it seems like she's growing bigger every day! Yesterday she sat up all by herself for the first time!
Her 6 month check up went very well. She weighs 14 pounds, 3 ounces, and measured 25 1/2 inches long. The doctor was surprised to see her sitting up and crawling already, so I was quite the proud Mommy! :) I was a little concerned going there today though because I noticed what I thought was an umbilical hernia a few weeks ago. Emily has had several hernias, so I knew what it was right away...and the doctor confirmed it today. Good news though, is that they don't typically worry about fixing those unless there are other surgeries needed as well. It doesn't cause her any pain, and if it weren't for knowing about this stuff from Emily, I wouldn't have even noticed it. Her belly button just looks like an outie, and when I was playing around with her and gently pushed it, I felt the hernia. So at least I quickly got my mind put at ease!
Madi had to get 3 regular immunizations as well as her first flu shot. We go back in one month for the flu shot booster (this is only done the first time a child is getting a flu shot), but she doesn't have another baby check up until January when she's 9 months old!
